Prevent Heart Attacks PLUS Your Face From Deteriorating with Vitamin K3

The above image of a human skeleton represents the direction of bone LOSS as we age. As depicted, you can see the eye and nose sockets widen, resulting in a “sunken in” effect of both structures and the surrounding tissues. Also apparent is the deterioration of the entire jaw inward which causes not only dental problems, but a much weaker and less defined jawline and chin compared to that in our 20’s and early 30’s. These changes are a NORMAL part of the aging process, and one of the primary reasons supplemental calcium is taken when we get older. However, calcium needs help from other molecules to even be able to be absorbed into bone, with one of the most important being Vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 is like the bus that takes calcium into storages places, but unfortunately one of those storage places is INSIDE YOUR ARTERIES. This detrimental location can cause calcium plaque build-up and hardening of your arteries, as evidenced in a CT scan of the heart arteries (known as a Calcium Score Test). In summary, the very thing you trust and spend money on to prevent osteoporosis may be creating the perfect environment for a future heart attack. THERE IS GOOD NEWS! The answer is Vitamin K2.

Before we look at the necessity of Vitamin K2, let’s examine the changes that occur on the outside of the face from aging and bone resorption. Starting in the upper 1/3 of the face (forehead to eyes), the eyes themselves have less bony support around them, causing the skin above AND below to droop and sag. With the cheek and nasal bone loss in the mid face (eyes to below the nose), this decrease in support causes the skin and fat pads to head south toward the mouth, creating jowls and lines around the mouth. The lower 1/3 of the face (bottom of nose to neck) will see the lips start curling inward due to the loss of structure around the mouth, the jaw will be much less sharp, and the chin will appear more retracted. Since the jawline is the support for the skin above the neck, less support here will make a double chin more likely as well.

Now let’s circle back to how Vitamin K3 can help slow down this morphological change in the face AND prevent cardiovascular disease shall we?

Below is the Abstract from the article published in Integrative Medicine: A Clinican’s Journal. Proper Calcium Use: Vitamin K2 as a Promoter of Bone and Cardiovascular Health Katarzyna Maresz, PhD (link HERE.)

Folks, this is NEWER scientific discovery that must be shared. Gone are the days of taking calcium pills with breakfast to prevent broken bones. Vitamin K2 will shuttle the calcium right into the bones, NOT into your arteries.

“Inadequate calcium intake can lead to decreased bone mineral density, which can increase the risk of bone fractures. Supplemental calcium promotes bone mineral density and strength and can prevent osteoporosis. Recent scientific evidence, however, suggests that elevated consumption of calcium supplements may raise the risk for heart disease and can be connected with accelerated deposit of calcium in blood-vessel walls and soft tissues. In contrast, vitamin K2 is associated with the inhibition of arterial calcification and arterial stiffening. An adequate intake of vitamin K2 has been shown to lower the risk of vascular damage because it activates matrix GLA protein (MGP), which inhibits the deposits of calcium on the walls. Vitamin K, particularly as vitamin K2, is nearly nonexistent in junk food, with little being consumed even in a healthy Western diet. Vitamin K deficiency results in inadequate activation of MGP, which greatly impairs the process of calcium removal and increases the risk of calcification of the blood vessels. An increased intake of vitamin K2 could be a means of lowering calcium-associated health risks.”
